A: Across the street OXXO is open 24 hours. From the hostel go left down Versalles which turns into Morelia after you cross Avenida Chapultepec. Walk 2-3 blocks and you can also find some good street food or tacos open until midnight and sometimes a little later on the weekends. Otherwise continue 2 more blocks to Avenida Alvaro Obregon, turn right and you'll find a few more restuarants open late.

Q: What restaurants do you recommend?
A: Most of the restaurants we recommend are located in Roma and Condesa. Along Avenida Alvaro Obregon & Orizaba check out Atrio or Non Solo in Roma. If you have a little money to spend then go over to Stamp del Mar also in Roma on Orizaba. Hands down the best shrip cocktails in Mexico! In Condesa there are more restaurants and bars then anywhere else in the city. We recomend just walking around the area. However if you're vegitarian, Condesa offers several good vegi options like The Green Corner and Buena Tierra.

Q: What street food and/or taco stands are worth trying?
A: We have a few good ones right next to us and each taco is less than 10 pesitos! You'll find them along Londres near the Museo De Ripley which is two blocks over from Versalles. There are two right next Sumesa (the grociery store) and the other is on the corner of Berlin. Each is uniqe but all are excellent cheep eats for a quick lunch.

Q: Is there a good nightlife?
A: Check out Roma, Condensa and/or Zona Rosa.

A: Not anymore, only outside.

A: Go right down Versalles until you reach Reforma. Turn left and you'll see a Starbucks on the left side.

Lonely Planet Review
Daniel C Schechter
Lonely Planet author

Friendly American-Mexican couple Tory and Livier have reconceived a Porfirio Díaz-era home as a boutique hostel/cultural center, contributing their own quirky design elements. It's a hit with young, mostly European, travelers.

Don't expect much privacy: two rooms around a small patio are outfitted as mixed-gender dorms - one with six bunks, the other with four - sharing a single tiny bathroom. Otherwise, you might opt for one of a pair of wood-floored private rooms upstairs, each as large as the dorm units, with a green-tiled bathroom down the hall. Much of the social interaction takes place in the front-end cafe/lounge where espresso and Japanese elixir tonics are dispensed. Uniquely decorated with an array of homemade objects and thrift store finds, the space alternately serves as a venue for theater events, movies and poetry readings.
